Welcome

Crathie School is attractively situated in Upper Deeside and is a non-denominational school with a role of 11 children. The school serves the Crathie catchment area.  The school catchment area includes Abergeldie, Balmoral and Invercauld Estates.  The school was first opened in 1873 and the Admissions Register started in that year is still in use today.

The school has three well equipped classrooms, a staff area and Admin Office and a separate building with servery for lunchtime meals.

There is a large playground with grass and tarred areas and a woodland area with mature trees for the children to explore.  A biodiversity garden with pond area, a vegetable garden and composting area have been established within the grounds.  Statas as an Eco Schools Scotland Green Flag school was first awarded in 2007 and has been maintained since.

The school has strong links with the Unicef Rights Respecting School award and has achieved the highest Gold level award. It also became the smallest school in the UK to achieve this!

The school achieved status as a Digital School in 2019.
